Default Hot CAI!

OK how do I keep my new chrome "cold" air intake from getting so damn hot! I mean, I think the stock rubber one was probably better. I guess I could wrap it in something but that wont look good. Anyone tried to insulate theirs with somehting?

Yeah, you can wrap it in some kind of insulater but it wont look that great. you should get a densecharger, they dont get hot at all(they are made of plastic)

Dont worry about your cold air intake getting hot. After thinking about it enough, i realized that the air going through the pipes and into the manifold doesnt stay there long enough to be heated up by the chrome. Makes sense doesn't it?

on my last car i had a custom CAI on it, i took heat resistant pvc and made it from the MAM all the way into the fender, and how those k&n filters are and the size of the pipe, and hole to the fender, i didn't have to worry about it falling out somwhere. i noticed a small gain with that, nothing much though.
