Default Windshield wipers fudged up

(91 LX Coupe) Ok. So hears what happened. Raining. Wipers working fine. Stoped at the store. Get in car. Turn on wipers. Nothing. No high, no low, no int. Nothing. I tune to low, gfnudges the arm. Bingo they start working. Not ranning to hard so they start to get anoying. Turn them off. Turn on. Nothing. GF nudges again. They start. This time they start gradually running slower. Almost home. I start to smell this burning smell. Get home pop the hood. The wipermotor is cool to the touch and i cant smell it burning. What was the burning and what is broken. Wiper control box or motor? Thanks for the help.

You need a new wiper motor. Anytime you can coax an electrical motor to work by hitting, nudging, knocking or w/e, it's the motor!!
