ok here is the problem. I just got a 85 5.0 and on the starter solinoid everytime i connect the battery cables, a green wire gets red hot and heat fries the wires. Does anyone know what that green wire is? Or how many wires need to be connected to the solinoid? Is it a bad solinoid? I know nothing about this so any help would be appreciated. Thanks to all for any response.

 

Green is most likely ground. Where does the wire start and end?
