Default Parking Brake Sucks!!!

For some reason when I go to park my car I put on the parking brake and it works fine but for some reason the last few days after coming back to the car I take the parking brake off and the tires are still locked. Im so pissed at my car right now that I just drive it anyways and after a little bit they let go. I am ready to light this F****** car on fire! In the last few months I have had almost everything that is not part of the engine go bad. and they just keep getting worse. I have to redo my whole front suspension again after just fixing it about 2 months ago. Anyways can anybody tell me whats going on with my car?

I do not use the parking brake at all
just for that reason. If I use it now
I would expect it to lock.
I don't call mine a parking brake, I
call it an emergency brake.
My worst fear is that someone else
will drive the car and set the brake.

You have to remove rear wheel, and lube up all the
linkages for the brake to work right.

it may just be tensioned too tight. I think it gets tighter as the brakes wear down, so whgen you put new pads on the rear you have loosen up the tensioner. If you don't the cable would be too tight and give you the problems you're having now. Honestly i know more about rear drums than i do shoes, so i could be wrong.

lol, I wouldn't call it an emergency brake ether! I can stop 30 + times faster with the real brake. my parking brake just slows me down. it does not lock the tires or get any real stopping power.

yeah, I dont think thats the problem because I still have the stock back brake pads with about 70% + left on them. I have only replaced the front brakes and I dont think the front does anything with parking brakes.

My mom had a problem with the parking brake on her '05 GT (believe it or not). Since it is winter here in northeast PA, the car hardly comes out, so it mostly sits in the garage under a cover. What we discovered when we took the car down to the shop is that there is a connector on the parking brake that develops surface rust anytime the car sits for a couple of days. Then when the brake is released, it doesnt disengage the brake fully amd gets stuck... to remedy this, the car must either be drivenoften or when parked for more than a few days use wheel chocksto keep the car from moving instead of the brake.I know your car is almost 10 years older, but maybe the problem could be that.

I drive the car every day. rain, snow, hail, whatever comes my way. I will be putting my car on the lift to do a few repairs so I will have to look at it to see whats going on.
