Default noob tire question

if I get a set of nitto 555 ZR's are they an everyday kind of tire, or are they a track/fun tire to use in certain areas?

If you know how to drive, a stock mustang on DR's will run 14.0 flat if the weather is good. I have a buddy that ran like a 13.95 with just a CAI and DR's.

I was hoping (maybe unrealistically) for a 13.8. It's my first time to the track but I'd consider myself a decent driver. The elevation will hurt since it's in the mountains but it looks like it may be in the 50's when we go. Maybe those will cancel eachother out.

edit - I'm also hitting the dyno on saturday. I'm scared to see the results I was hoping for ~245 whp 270 wtq. Guess we'll see how much work I have left to do.

Man, if you can't break 13.9 with radials on a stock 99+ GT you should just trade it in and get a Daewoo.

555's aren't the best dragging tire, but I really like mine. Dry traction is awesome (esp. w/ 275's) we traction is 100x better than stock and they corner like no other...

All this is coming from a former kuhmo owner..
