what does port and polish do? and how much does it cost?

 

Well I priced out getting my heads ported and larger SS valves put in and it was gonna run me $2400. The shop said it would add in the neighborhood of 60 hp. After a P&P your engine will be able to breath better.

 

porting and polishing can add 100 or so..it really depends on what it's on.....on a street car it would be cheaper in getting a set of alum heads with the valves you wants..machine work is high....years ago it wasn't bad as I had most of my sbc heads fitted with 2.05 valves

 

how much do u think it will cost for a 2.3l?

I would only match port and do some work under the bowl area and use undercut valve for more floww I would not speend the $$$ to have them polished unless the is a turbo engine

didnt know this was for the 2.3. It would be a lot cheaper for that then it would to do a 4.6.

 

Well tommyboy1989 for 2.3L port and polished head and intake, You looking around under $150 if you pull the head and intake off. If you get garage to pull it, Youre gonna pay for the labour, Plus the machining of the parts and gaskets. My guess under $500 for a shop to do it.
