Dash lights
I was drivng my 92 mustang the other day and I hit a bump, my dash lights stopped working. Its a pain to drive at night. No fuses seem to be blown. Must be a bad connection or something????????wiring diagram?
use a volt meter or a light test and test your switch. im almost guaranteeing is the switch. i had the same problem excpet mine would never come on. one day i hit a bump and the damn things came on so i replaced the switch and now its fine. so just buy the switch on ebay for like 10 dollars and install it, its a very simple process.
its called the headlight switch. its on the left of the steering wheel. where you turn your lights on at. are you tailight out as well? if so then its most def the switch. jsut try replaceing the switch and let me know what happens. go to ebay and type, mustang healight switch youll get a couple of results. if its not the switch then take the dash off and look around for loose wires in the back area of the dash, try fuses, and behind the headlight switch test the connection for the wires entering the switch.
my headlights and taillights do work..........my dash lights dont(gauge lights,heater/ac, radio, shifter lights), do you still think its the switch, im going to check as soon as it stops raining, thanks
the one in my girls 89 sucks also, so i just hit it a couple of times and it comes on. Sometimes the switch moves (to dim) and the lights turn completly off. Get a new switch, should fix it. Dimmer switch.
check the fuses if you havent already, make sure they all work, take the dash off and look behind the console. there should be a conector that hooks up to the dash directly behind the fuel gauge. make sure thats properly connected, and check those wires. dont go all out buying stupid unnecessary things until you figured out the problem. take off the dash and inspect all wires and connectors.
