Back up about 20 feet.. hold the cam in front of you and RUN towards your car! With luck it'll pop right in

What kind of engine are you looking fortheinfo on?

==> Read this <== Something to get you started..

It's a 289 engine, but the cam goes in a similar way.

Are you swapping out other parts or just the cam? ...Just curious b/c a cam swap on a stock 302 motor is a lot of work for not a lot of gain. 86 D7 heads or 87-93 E7's will not provide enough airflow. Gt40's will work much better, but may not provide enough PTV clearance (piston to valve clearance) since you have flat top pistons (ASSuming it's an 86 motor).

Remove the U/L intake, valve covers, rockers and pushrods. You'll want to drain the coolant, BTW. Get a telescoping magnet and remove the lifters...put them in an egg crate so you can put them back in the same bore you pulled them from.

The next steps can vary based on who's doing it. Remove your radiator, crank pulley/dampner, and timing cover. Remove the timing chain and you'll have access to the cam. You need to degree the cam properly to avoid having engine/valve timing issues. Replace the cam bearings while you're in there, too.

^^That is a very generic walk through... I would strongly recommend you have someone there that knows what's up or find some more complete walkthrough's!!!!
