As long as you MAF and throttlebody remain stock I can't imagine why installing a CAI would mean you need a custom tune

You have to get a tune or your car will run lean and throw an error code/check engine.
This has been discussed many times in the forum, do a search.

CAI with stock MAF doesn't need a tune, nor does exhaust. That's what the MAF is for, to compensate for different flow rates of air. If you have a speed density system, you'll need a tune if you sneeze.

Any computerized car will require a specific tune to run at its maximum. The factory installs a tune that is compatible with the variations in each engine. It is the best tune for these 100,000 engines, but necessarily a single engine.

Your getting me confused,, what's this mention of exhaust now?

Anyway, tuners can only be used ONCE per car.. sofor exampleyou can't buy one & tune all your buddies cars too and neither could a shop. Yes if you want a predator tune then you need a predator of your own, and it keys itself to your car
