this is a great day. your first day of realizing your destiny, to spend your life driving and modifying american muscle cars. enjoy your newfound freedom, but don't abuse it. racing is fun, but losing your license isn't. but im sure you already know that, look forward to kill stores etc.....

Street racing is bad, Mmmmmmkay?

I'm all for the occasional intersection drag (first one through the other side wins) but when you start doubling (and more) the speed limit it's stupid and dangerous to the other people out there. Besides, it's more a test of driver skill than driver wallet-thickness. Get a good launch and you can beat just about anything with whatever you're in. I waxed an 80s 911 in my Bronco (full size, two passengers) once. He didn't like it.

The Washington state patrol has an anti-street racing poster in their office up here that's got a picture of a red NSX and a red H2, both with the WSP star on the doors. No good at all. (but really obvious with the freakin star)

Just remember: Any fool can pick up the keys, mash the throttle, and wind up in jail. Sometimes it's a lot harder to be responsible. If you and your friends like to party, pick a designated driver. It really isn't worth the buzz.
More important than your ego is your cargo. Your friends may be egging you on, but their lives are in your hands. Seriously man, it takes a bigger man to turn down a challenge. I've had people who wanted to race me with their kids in the back seat. Stupid teenagers with babies and they want to race? What is wrong with people? You have to look out for the other people.

Here I am sounding like a 50 year old parent... Just to let you know I'm only 26 and I don't have kids. But a couple of years ago a close family friend was killed by an inattentive driver while riding his bike.
