Default New MGW Shifter

Well it seems that MGW is finally done with their design. Here's a picture and link that describes it. They make quality stuff, so I was waiting before I replaced my stock shifter.

Everywhere I look, MGW stuff is always being viewed as very high quality material. Most of the people I know use MGW handles with the Tri-ax and Pro 5.0 shifters.

It's supposed to be the "shortest throw" shifter on the market when it comes out, and also the most quiet.

If I can get great quality, shorter, firmer shifts, and less noise, then I'm sold on it.

Of course, I will let my friend buy one first to test it on his car.

really MD no way a stock boot will work..what holds the handle in place from turning unless you get it just right on that lock type nut...I like a 1 piece handle

Just to clear up a few things for you guys. The stock boot does fit over the shifter fine... Below is a picture using the shorter blue handle at the 7 O'clock position. In the picture the shifter is set in second gear.

As for the handle moving, Ive tried and tried to beat on it and get it to move and it will not. The locking nut on top really bites into the handle and then the 2 set screws help keep the nut from moving. The set screws actually dig into the handle a good bit.

You guys can read the mini-reveiw here to see the advantages over other shifters on the market:

If you guys have any questions please feel free to ask, I would be more than happy to answer them for you. Ill keep an eye on the thread.

MGW is currently taking pre-orders and will be shipping shifters sometime next week. For now you can only order by calling them. There number is listed on their website at http://www.mgwltd.com/

BTW, I believe they are running a special if you order this week, for $185 you get both handles. (Basically you get the extra handle for $10 instead of $24).
