Please Help Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Eric, But I don't think I will need my engine to take anywhere near 800-1200HP. I'm happy with the setup I will have at about 350rwhp. And since u said my 3.8 could take 400 I should be fine with it at 350 for a while right? After the charger, I will probably only do suspension, drivetrain, and weight reductionmods when I have the money. Good Idea? Probablt through in an Aluminum Driveshaft, then Aluminum Flywheel. U think those mods will be OK with my setup b/c people say they only freeup HP not add it. After that I'll probably switch in a Tubular Panhard Bar and Tubular K-Member which'll take 80lbs off the front of my car!!! Good Ideas?
Thanx for the help guys!!!
PS-Stangchic-sorry if I offended u but if u don't understand all the divisions of things that effect racing, don't question how fast or slow a car could be, I've had over 70% of the people who I've talked to said I already have a good hookup and could probably run mid to low 13's with my set up now. And after the charger(I'm not sending it back) Hello 11's. So if you would like to know anything about weight reduction, suspension upgrades, or drag rims/tires I'm here to help
!!! Sorry again if I offended u, I understand ur position, I'm sorta in ur position now, but I'm gonna have a lot more debt($20k approx) and a faster car. But as I like to say, U gotta pay to get what u want. I'm probably the happiest person for being in so much debt!!

you're naming off all of your future mods after this supercharger and i see nothing that indicates that you plan on upgrading your fuel system. doing this is a very important step.
all i can say is good luck.
all i can say is good luck.
i seriously doubt your car would run mid 13's with weight reduction and a couple of suspension. Fact is don't brag about thinking you are faster than someone until you either post track times, or you race them, case closed. Your attitude still fits an young person who should be driving a sixer. And even if you do build a faster car, which you do not have right now, my car will ALWAYS sound better.
I'm usualyl not one to call BS (although I do have one major case of it here and I did a damned good job of calling someone out.) But I'm a bit weary of the 13's too.
Essentially you have a tuned car with full exhaust, gears, and suspension / tires. But I see the tires and gears actually hurting you a bit. You really don't have the raw power and torque to require those tires. That could actually cause you to bog way down and actually run slower. The 4.10s could even cause problems in a V6 with your setup., But don't take my word for it. Let's take a look at someone with a simialr setup from here. This was posted just recently.
He're a list of mods:
Drag wheels: 03 Cobra 17x10.5
Drag Tires: Nitto 555R 315/35
MAC Long Tubes w/Polidyn Ceramic Coating
MAC Cold Air Intake
MAC Catted h-pipe
MAC Sub-frame connectors
MAC control arms
Magnaflow cat back
Magnapack mufflers
SCT XCAL 2
FRPP T-lok
FRPP 4.10 gears
FRPP 13†Front brake kit
FRPP 13†Rear brake kit
FRPP Braided stainless brake hoses
FRPP Adjustable Clutch Cable
FRPP Firewall Adjuster
FRPP Quadrant
Spec Stage 2 Clutch
Spec Lightweight Billet Flywheel
Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter
Bilstein Springs
Bilstein Shocks
And here are his actual track results from last week:
15.18 @ 91.9 mph with a2.126 60'
Is it because he's a bad driver? No, it's because he bogged like a MF'er with the mods he had. The gears and drags were too much for his car. He even said he actualyl ran faster BEFORE he put those in. And looking at th setup, I'd say his mods look slightly better than yours. Not that your mods are bad, but they're definately not 13 second mods...not in a N/A V6.

BTW, those are real world mods, with real world times, with a real world driver that owns a real world newer V6. I'm sure he thought he was gonig to run a lot better, or at least as good as he did before the mods. He was shocked to see how much worse he did simply due to bogging down, etc.
Maybe it's just me, but I'd trust his hard numbers more than I would trust some random people who are guessing at what you may run.

Hmmm that is a lot of mods, but there are only a couple of "Go Fast" mods on that list. I only counted 4 things on there that added power (I count exhaust as a whole and H-pipes or Xpipes dont add power on the even fire V6.) If anything that guy added weight to his car, it may handle a ton better but where is the power to make it faster? The year also makes a huge difference.
94-95 V6 had 145hp
96-98 V6 had 150hp
99-04 V6 had 190hp
If he is a 99+ model then there is something wrong because that engine does exceptionally well with modifications.
Its also not a big waste of money because if its a hoby that someone loves then its not. Especially if he/she gets tired of that engine and swaps out the engine.
Something that you guys are forgetting is that I have real world experiance with owning a V6 and a V8, modding and racing them, turning my own wrenches. So far you guys are just going off of your side assuming that you never owned a V6 because of the complete lack of respect that is presented here for them.
Here are some track times that I have found quite reliable because they are from Car and Driver and Motor Trend.
1995 Ford Mustang 3.8 17.3
1994 Ford Mustang GT5.0L 14.9
1999 Ford Mustang Convertible V6 16.5
1999 Ford Mustang GT 14.1
2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1 (5 Speed)13.2
2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1 (Auto) 13.88
That gives you an idea of what runs what.
If he is expecting to be into the 13's then he can do it after a procharger that he already has the money for.
The mach1 ran a 13.2 and it only has 305hp, to the tires that is far less. What gears did they come with? 3.55's? I think?
Its more than likly that he is going to break into the 13's and no one will hear of it untill he does it because he is a V6
Stangchick I have been nice and respectful to you and you just banter back at me. Fine, you are intitled to that, I believe in his mustang with proper tuning. The procharger system he is looking at comes with an upgraded fuel system (And some cases comes with a new fuel pump depending on vendor) so that would solve the fuel problem.
Trust me in what I say, trust in it because I have the experiance and have seen others close to me do it, he will reach into the 13's, with a new shortblock he will hit mid 11's.
I didnt want to mention times before all this crap because there is too much to concider, but everyone else seems to be belting them out, so there, that is what I believe.
You are not going to change my mind, I am tired of being nice about it and taking into concideration your "Whats ifs."
I own 4 Mustangs and have worked on countless others, dont take my words with a grain of salt. I mentioned earlier that most of it was estimates, but guess what, the performance industry isnt based on sticking something on the car and marketting it, it goes through research on paper first, and engine is built on paper first or a computer before putting it together.
Stangchick, I can see who is young here.
Im done being respectful and done with this thread.

ummm once again, we stillare talking about his car now. NOt with the mods he pland to put on in the future. I was referring to the fact that his car would not run 13's in the condition it sits right now, not when its supercharged. ANd if you're saying that he will only run a mid 13 with a supercharger then i would defiantely not be impressed.
Okay, let me point some things out. Not being a *****, but pointing out some key things
Hmmm that is a lot of mods, but there are only a couple of "Go Fast" mods on that list. I only counted 4 things on there that added power (I count exhaust as a whole and H-pipes or Xpipes dont add power on the even fire V6.)
Okay, the guy I listed didnt have many "Go Fast" parts, but what does the original poster have? He has exhaust, pulleys, and a tune. I wouldn't exactly say he has a lot of "Go Fast" parts either. In fact, the setups look pretty similar. And the cars are the same style and year (as far as the engine goes)
I never got on his case about wantingto have a hobby and make his car go faster. I can respect any car that wants to go faster. i was on his case about his attitude, his cockyness, and his trash talking.
Again, my lack of respect was for his attitude not his car. He is talking trash about stuff he doesnt even ahve yet. Okay, so he has the money for the supercharger. But he STILL doesnt actually have it and it sure isn't installed yet. You turn your own wrenches, I turn my own, and StangChik turns her own. We do our own work and we actually have our mods already installed. We have also actually run our cars to know exactly what they do. That I can respect.
Now if someone comes on here and wants to nickname their car "The Rice Burner" or whatever it was, and if they wanna talk trash about trashing V8s etc thats different all together. ESPECIALLY if the person doesn't even have the mods he is talking about trashing people with.
Here is where I think everyone is comfused and here is where the miscommunication comes in. I don't doubt that he could run in the 13s with a supercharger. Stangchik also agrees to that (I think.) But go back and read his post. He is saying that he should be able to run mid 13's right now the way his car is, with nothing but exhaust and a tune. I was clearly pointing out how it wasn't likely, adding that his setup may actually be slowing him down.
If you are saying that he will run 13s with a superchrger, then surely you must agree that there is no way he is gonig to do it with just exhaust and a tune like he claims he can right now.
In my opinion, talking about what he actually has right now this very minute is not a what-if situation. Talking about is current mods is not a what-if situation. But talking about how he might someday buy and install a Procharger? That sounds like a BIG what-if to me. No?

Eaxctly my point, samseed i love it when you pop into a debte you're so good at it.
My opinion is i don't think he would run anywhere near a mid 13 right now, and i could care less whether he will or not with the supercharger until it is completely installed and he runs the car.
ANd whoever said he has a ton experience racing and has had over 50 runs....save it, a lot of peoplehere knwo that i am from a drag racing family and i probably have 500 or mores track runs under belt and at least 1/5 of those in bracket racing competitions, but i still learn new stuff evrey day so it really doesn't mean much does it
