Default Hood Scoop Install

I just got a hood scoop (non functional) off a 01GT and want to put it on a 99GT. I have the hardware but no template to know where to drill the holes and get it to fit correctly. Any suggestions on what to do and how to install. I added a pic of the hood scoop if that helps. Thanks!!!

I would take some pin striping tape and go corner to corner so you have the center marked with an X in the middle of the hood, then determine the center of the scoop, then measure the distances from corner to tape and make sure it is even.

The center will be further forward than you may like, so move the center back using bits of tape and measure from both sides of the hood to make sure that it is 100% center. Place the scoop on the hood and decide what you like. Mark that section, now go to a dealership and measure from the front of the hood of an 01 GT to the start of the scoop, measure side to side distance and measure distance to the rear.

Take those new measurements home and compair to where you like the scoop. You can either choose to maintain the pose that you took earlier or go with the stock measurments.

Easy, just time consuming

Thanks for the advise. It's gonna take some time to get it just right but like you said just measure until I get it right!!!!
