PCV Qeustion? and car is jumping at low rpms?
My pcv valve on the drivers side valve cover i leaking oil on the valve cover. I went to ford to get a new rubber grommet and pvc valve. They say thatI need a new valve cover to replace the pcv because it is threaded in to the cover.
Also, when Im driving at lower rpms like 1200-1500, my car will start to jump or stutter, what could be causing this?

I'nm assuming you're talking about your 2003 that's in your sig. Unfortunately, I can't help you with that. My newest Mustang is a 1995 so there is no PCV valve on any of the valve covers. My only "stock" PCV valve is behind the intake on the lower manifold. The Passenger side valve cover has a breather tube attached to the oil fille rneck and the driver's side valve cover is completely sealed. I added aftermarket valve covers to add a breather on the passenger side and a PCV valve on the driver's side.
Any idea why it's leaking oil? Did you do anything to increase crankcase pressure (boost?)Seems strange for one to fail that's relatively new, but then again, I've never dealt with 2003s. But I know my 95 PCV valve never gave me trouble until I superchaged it.
As far as the driveability problem, if it is hesitating at lowe RPMS or when you start out, that could be caused by a vacuum leak. And if you are having PCV problems, that could cause a vacuum leak.

Just get a new PCV valve and some RTV sealer.Use the sealer sparingly to create a seal around the PCV valve and look for leaks between the valve and upper plenum.
To help track down the leak you can clean off the old oiland use talcum powder to trace the leak to it's source.

No, they have a part that comes with the threaded valve, and a hose. The hose is molded onto the pcv valve. I had this same problem with my drivers side valve. The O-ring got a crack in it and getting the right part from Ford was like pulling teeth. I will try and get the part number for you when I get a chance.
