Default Info needed - Plugs (gap), wires, ignition...

So I hear alot about Denso plugs and I noticed that Ford sells 9 mm wires. I've also seen things that are supposed to help with ignition.
Can someone tell me if there are any ponies to be found in changing this stuff or is it more about reliability.
For that matter, would changing the stock recommended gap on the plugs ever be helpful and if so, under what circumstances.
Thanks
FS

yes changing wires and plugs will give you a performance increase. I have Bosch wires and they have less resistances so you will have a longer and hotter spark i also have platinum +4 plugs which also increase power cuz they will give a bigger and longer spark you can get a new ignition too but i havent found one for my car yet 95 mustang but that would help too i strongly recommend this easy and fast mod

wires do increase hp, just a small amount, and +4 plugs lose hp because that have smaller sparks, that are acctually shorter, a normal plug will give you the most power, and don't mess with the gap, factory sets it up for the best efficiency, which inturn relates exactly to hp

The gap DOES need to be set, its just as important (if not more) than the plug itself. Plugs do come set from the factory, but not only can shipping bang around the box messing up the gap (not all plugs come shipped with a thread/gap protector), and also they may not be set for your engine - as the plug your using in your car may also be the plug used in a different vehicle. Gap is determined by how strong the ignition system is - as more gap is equal to more power - but too big of a gap that the ignition system can't support will have the spark blow out. Follow your factory specs for gap - unless you plug specifically tells you not to adjust gap (+4's, etc.). Oh yea, I agree +4's suck.

lets say i got some new coil packs and an ignition module how hard would it be to install them? on a rating from 1-10, 10 being the hardest, ive worked on engines before, in the process of tearing an explorer apart so i pretty much know what im doing

Plugs:
Alright, from what I've read Denso Iridium plugs are the way to go. The sight says the gap is only .050 gap (vs .054 gap of stock). NGK makes iridium plugs which they say should be at .054 but some article i found said the idle was a little rougher with NGK.
Apparently iridium is the way to go.

Wires:
Haven't found too many options. None seem better than Ford Racing 9mm wires. They are supposed to conduct better and have less issues with temps than stock.

Ignition:
The only things i've seen is some stacker thing from MSD. The thing is I can't figure out from MSDs site which parts would actually apply to my vehicle. Any help/input on this would be appreciated.

Finally:
coil packs... Dont really know anything about them. Is this an upgrade worth looking into?

You factory ignition system is good enough for more power than 99% of folks will ever give their 99+ GT ... good plugs are helpful though

+4's arent performance plugs, their made to last a long time -

copper is the best kind of plug for performance, but they don't last very long (10-15k miles)
