rear diff.
I have a 2007 Mustang GT, it is an automatic tranny, and has 3.31 gears. Can someone tell me what I have so far as rear end, 9", 8", 8.8" etc.etc....
I want to put 4.11's in and need to know as much as possible before I take it in to the shop. I have already checked wheather it will affect my warranty, and the dealer says it will NOT affect warranty.
Any help anyone can give me in this issue would be greatly appreciated.
In the past I came to this forum concerning CAI/Tuner questions and you all helped me greatly. I went with the info from this forum and purchased everything from Brenspeed and I am very satisfied. SO I thought I would ask your help again concering gears.
Thanks,
Keith

Its an 8.8" I wouldnt always trust the guys that are installing your gears to tell you that it is not going to affect your warenty, I would ask your dealership about that, you might even have to have the dealership install the gears for you.
If you get Ford Racing gears then you can purchase it direct and I know that it will most likly not affect your warenty. Though from what I have seen Pro 5.0 gears are better because they are polished and they are backcut to remove 2.5lbs of dead weight. I think it was for every 1lbs you remove you free up 8bhp. So just from that you would free up about 20bhp. I think it was 8hp anyways, you can research that.
The FRPP are nice because the teeth are bevled and make less noise and offer a longer service life.
Good Luck, with the auto I would go with a set of 4.11's It will go great with your car and still be streetable.
