Some *** Hit me "HELP"
well about a week ago I came out of my class, walked to the university lot and discovered someone backed into me pretty hard. the license plate was smashed up good, there is a tiny chip on the tip of the hood, and the flat part above the plate infront of the pony has a few small scrapes and chips plus the plastic is slightly warped or bended. Overall it looks like the plate took most of the damage, and nothing else is externally damaged. when I got in I noticed that the "Airbag" light was flickering on and off. On the drive home, it seemd to run fine and no noises were detected. I disconnected the battery, reseted the CPU, and still the air bag light was on.After I calmed down, i took it out on a little test drive in the country last night, and it seemed to run pretty good. I picked up a small humming or whining noise coming from the transmission(thats what it sounded like) and that wasnt there before. Then when I stopped one time, a loud ticking and almost screatching noise appeared. It sounded rotational (flik flik flik flik) and It lasted for about 10 seconds, and once I took off and got to about 30 it stopped and didnt come back yet. Well Guys, just wondering what you think I should do, and is there any recomendations as to what is wrong with my car? One last thing is the airbag light is always on now. Thanks a lot guys, and sorry it is soo long.
i dont know if being hit would cause yur car to run bad...maybe the flicking noise is a piece of metal hanging from the damage or sumthing like that..im not exactly sure and the air bag light might be sumthing to worry about, or it might not. Could be simply what my dad lieks to call a FRED(f'ing rediculous electronic device) or sumthing worse...hope that helped a lil and good luck
Dude he may have hit you hard enough to push in the air bag switch. It is pressure sensitive and once pushed in it cant be pulled out. Had a dude knock one in with a hammer in high school and deployed the airbag. Although very cool to see it costed around a grand to replace the switch and the airbag. Not trying to scare you just dont hit anything lightly. If the airbag light is on then it may be and electrical problem or a mouse fart could deploy the airbag.
Well my car is a manual. And yeah I have insurance, but I doubt that it will be over the deductable, if it is, then they will take care of it, but if not I will probably just pay out of pocket and keep it out of the insurance field so I dont get raised payments.[:'(]
