Default K-member???

I saw we can get K-members for $220...

I looked around and saw they're like $500 other places.

Is its function purely weight reduction? How hard is it to install? Is it a worthwhile mod for $220?

dont get a k-member for handling, not one for 220- a great weight reducer though and they can be setup for coil overs

Well, I need an alignment and can get a free one from my buddy in Auto-tech.

Should I pick one up for $220? I have a beater car while the stang is undergoing surgery...

NO YOU NEED TO ALIGN THE K-MEMBER IN THE CAR FIRST.....WT REDUCING THIGS IS COOL but you can sit the engine in the car lower and set it back for better handling and wt transfer

Meh, I probably don't need it, thanks... I'll look into it when I start doing suspension mods...

For now it's 4.10's, plenum, and nitrous...

Yep, the aftermarket K-member can get way off - best thing is to have a frame shop align it if possible - I've heard alot of horror stories from alignment problems after the swap.

HUH???

Well Vfast said with a tubular K member you can sit the engine down further and set it back for better handeling... how could you set the engine BACK without replacing the driveshaft? I mean, you would need a shorter one in this case. You cant just go moving stuff that easily.

I agree about the alignment though.

The driveshaft has a few inches of play both ways where it splines into the transmission.
