Default Exhaust YO

Im looking to get a nice exhaust system for my 98 GT. Its cut right behind the H pipe right now. Thats how I bought it and it has 6 cats on this thing!!! I couldnt believe it. I may want to just go with one High flow cat on each side. 2 total.
I need some info though on long tube headers. They flow better and are better up top then the shorty headers, right? And also, all the X pipes I was looking at were made to hook up to the shorty headers, Dont they make X pipes that will bolt up to the long tube headers?

So next, after the headers and X pipes on there, what comes next? I like the deep tone of my cut exhaust and would like something similar. Could I just dump it after the X pipe? I like the looks though of the pipes coming out the rear of the car but also like the sound of the dumped exhaust.

I was looking at the Mac Long tube headers and X pipe. A guy I talked to has them and he likes them alot.

So what do you guys think? How should I go about getting a nice exhaust setup?

And sorry if what i said doesnt make much sense... Im new to all this exhaust stuff and its lingo. lol
