Default Alignment after spring install?

I'm thinking about installing 1" lowering springs in my '96 GT. To do the fronts, i was told it would be easiest to unbolt the top of the strut from the strut tower and lowing the whole a-arm and strust to get the spring out and new one in. Does this mean I will have to get it re-alignment? Would I have to get an alignment with the lowered springs, regardless of how the springs are put in?

make sure you take it off from the bottom and lower the a-arm ... you won't "need" an alignment for a 1" drop but it would be a good idea.

Alignments arent expensive and dont take much time, go ahead and get an alignment so you dont cause adverse wear on your tires.
