Hey everyone. I'm a new member, and I have a question about my stang (it's a 79 pace car edition, 5.0 w/ auto). The stock figures for my engine are pathetic but I'm sure you all know them. I was thinking of upgrading to a makeshift '85 GT engine by buying these parts from a junkyard or anywhere I can find them:
'85 4-barrell carb
'85 cylinder heads
'85 water pump
'85 intake manifold
'85 cam
'85 roller lifters
Can anyone tell me if any of these parts won't fit in my engine? Or would I have to modify anything? I don't know a great deal about interchangability of these parts. Any help would be appreciated!

 

don't think the '79 block with take a roller cam and lifters, believe you need an '81 or later block for this to work.
