Since I would guess that more than a few of you have a radar detector, could you please share some of your wealth of knowledge with me. I think I heard they are illegal in WV and Canada, but I live in NY. I know that there is a distinction between laser and radar, and that pretty much you won't be able to know if you are gonna get tagged by laser, until you actually are clocked. Maybe you guys could let me know what I should look at if I wanted to buy one.

What about the Escort X50 8500, anyone have that? That seems to be at the top of radar roy's list and was listed well on the Veil review.
