i am starting an efi conversion on my 65 fastback, the small block will include bbk ss1 intake manifold, 70mm throttle body, c&l maf sensor, 24# injectors, crane performance street strip cam, 375- 400 crank horse power, i allready purchased an MSD High Pressure Electric Fuel Pump part # 121-2225 from jegs, it is capable of 500 hp. i have been told from some 5.0 litre enthusiasts that they are running similar performance upgrades with stock 5/16 supply and return lines, with no fuel starvation problems and installing upgraded fuel lines is a waste of money, my local speed shop tells me to install -6 russell or earls fuel lines, another speed shop told me to install -8 fuel lines
i have a fuel cell in the the car with 1/2 npt bungs for supply and return, which i can adapt to any fuel line system, i am not using the stock 5/16 steel fuel line regardless if is suffient, i am allready over budget on this project ,but i will not compromise fuel supply after all the work i have done, the msd pump i have meets the requirements but it has ****** fittings 3/8 inlet and 5/16 outlet from factory, i have been told after i purchased the pump that these fittins are unique to the pump and cannot be altered, has anyone installed a similar pump and adapted to russel an fittings? is this pump useless to me? what about a fuel filter stock ford with 5/16 inlet and outlet? i am trying not to spend $2000.00 canadian on a fancy fuel system , i just want adequate fuel supply
