Default predator vs. real tune

What can a tuner do that cannot be done by playing with the settings on a predator.
I'm wondering if a predator can get me through all of my mods and save me money
on real dyno tunes until I'm done. I've heard taking your car to get tuned with a chip
can cost $500+

A Preditor os a tuner. Most tuners just reflash the computer and really does nothing for stuff such as Air/Fuel mixtures and such. Here is a list of all the preditor does. Its better if you do all the work you wanna do and then get a dyno tune.

Dual timing adjustment points (2000-4000 RPM / 4000-7000 RPM)
Timing table (+10% / -40%)
Dual fuel adjustment points (2000-4000 RPM / 4000-7000 RPM)
Fuel table (+40% / -15%)
Idle (+/- 20%)
On/Off switch for Traction Control
Raise Speed Limiter
Rev Limiter
Re-Calibrate Speedometer for Gear and Tire Size Changes
WOT Shift Pressure
Part throttle shift firmness
RPM Shift Points
Torque Modulation (for better shift feel)
Cooling Fan ON/OFF Temperatures
Rear Oxygen sensor disable (use for off-road vehicles only)
Disable EGR (use for off-road vehicles only)
All of these parameters can be adjusted on the DiabloSport tune and/or the factory tune

Man your crazy if you think that a "tuner" cant adjust your A/F ratio.

Default RE: predator vs. real tune

Alright, so, I know that the "tuner" can help with speedo recalibration for tire/axel/gear changes. What I'm more concerned about is Air/Fuel adjustment. I'm looking to do mods that will allow alot of more air and fuel into my car. These include things such as:

Air (Oxygen):
Higher boost from supercharger,
New Larger MAM (Which needs to be calibrated),
Larger Throttle Body,
Acid porting intake,
Nitrous,
More effective Intercooler,
...

Fuel:
High flowing (possibly dual cobra) fuel pump,
Higher # Fuel injectors
...

What I want to know is, can I get my Air/Fuel Table adjusted enough with the tuner (through trial and error looking at an Air/Fuel Meter in my car) or do I need special software that would allow me to edit the table by hand?
I plan to get it all dyno tuned when I'm done but I dont want to blow my engine up mid way through mods and I dont want to pay to get dyno tuned multiple times.

if you have the money to boost blower output, put in no2, acid port your manifold, and get all those other things your planning on doing, you have the money to get it dyno'd half way throught the job and then again when your all done building.

or save your money, and do all the mods at once and then have it run on the dyno. those "tuners" dont do much

Put a digital wideband on your car as a cheap insurance policy, which will give you EXACT a/f #'s, all the time. With a digital wideband and a predator, you should be able to get very close to a correct tune by watching the wideband under load, hopefully in at least 3rd gear. Trying to do this with an analog auto meter (or equivalent) a/f meter is pointless, useless, and dangerous to your motor.

With the predator you can make quite a few adjustments. It has a backdoor way to allow you to do most anything you want. You can adjust then download to computer then upload again as custom which allows you some more adjustment and then do it again. The local dynotune here is pretty good with the predator and will help with the adjustments, then you just pay dyno time of $85/hour.
I have mine scheduled for 4:00 pm today, along with a new 2.80 blower pulley.

Won't disabeling the things on bold help performance? i mean in florida we have no emissions so we can run an "off-road" vehicle on the street.
