Default Bent Frame

I bought a 1996 Mustang GT pretty cheap and noticed it was out of alignment but for the price I figured I couldn't pass it up. I went to get the car aligned and the guy said they couldn't get the car aligned to factory specs because the frame is bent. I was wanting to do some suspension modifications but I wanted to have the frame straightened before. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how succesful the frame straightening was and most importantly the cost. Thanks for the help

Did they tell you where the frame was bent? It could be a bent K-member which is a pretty easy fix.

He didn't say where it was bent, hopefully its just the k-member. Thanks for the help.

Definitely get a second opinion before you go and pay to have something straightened that didn't need it. Don't tell them that someone told you it was bent make them tell you and have them show you where it is bent. And tell us and someone on here might have a good fix for you.

a bent frame is not always visible as a kink or bend. Check your door gaps at the fenders and your hood alignment. Your rear could be out also which would not allow the front to be aligned. If you have a freind with the same year car you can put them side by side and do some like measurements and see what you come up with. Use a metric tape it is more accurate for this.

The dillhole that had my Fox before me put it into the ditch, and bent the right front frame rail up about 2 inches. Cost me $250 to get it straightened. No biggie.
