OIL LEAKS...
i just got some ford racing valve covers and put them on and it turned out that there were a few leaks. two coming out of a couple of the bolts holding on the valve cover and one in the passenger side rear. I decided to take the car into the shop and have my buddy look at the car and fix all the leaks. They did the valve covers over again and the same thing is still happening. He said there was a tight seal so i dont know whythey are leaking so much. Its an 89 mustang gt. No roller rockers. thanks alot

RE: OIL LEAKS...
What kind of gaskets are you using? Cork or Rubber?
Cork gaskets suck and are prone to leaking. If you are using them, make sure you use RTV around them. The valve covers may not be warped, it might just be the fact that the cork gaskets are ****ty gaskets to begin with and do not compress/seal as well as rubber ones. Get some high end gaskets and be done with it.

I use cork gaskets siliconed to the valve covers. Never had a leak. Tried rubber gaskets...leaked likea *female dog*.

For example, Many (all?) Ford transmission's use reusable rubber pan gaskets. When you do a service on these things every 30K, you need to drop the pan to change the filter. I have reused the rubber gaskets 3+ times on cop cars without any problems. The key is a good gasket. The cork gaskets you get, even from WIX simply dont seal as well as the rubber ones.
