How much faster is the 97 Cobra then the 99 Gt assuming both cars are 5 speeds no mods and same miles on motor.

 

I know this is a retarded question, but humor me.

 

are they both coupes?
coupes are faster because they are lighter and shorter.
1997 mustang cobra: 4.6L, 305hp, V8, 5-Speed manual (stock)
1999 mustang gt: 4.6L, 260hp, V8, 5-Speed manual (stock)

if you look at the #s, id have to say the 97 cobra is faster, but you can modify a 99 gt to match a stock 97 cobra.

The cobra has more power, but it also weights more(I think) They are faster than the 99+ GTs but not by too much.

 

The 99+GT's are faster....The 97 Cobra happens to be a low 14 second car as well...If you want any more information...I can post links comparing the two...But the 99 GT is a bit faster.

 

I dunno, the website I am looking at gives the 99+ a 5.5 0-60 and a 14.2et but gives the cobra a 5.4 and 14 flat et.

I think we have a clear winner...99+ GT's are a bit faster..

 

What kind of factory freak were they using to run a 13.9 in a stock GT? Still, there is lots of place that will say the GT wins, and lots of places that will say the cobra wins. I would say its all a drivers race.

 

LOL...Not a factory freak...That's an EVAN SMITH freak....LOL...That guy ran a 13.71 in that stang completely stock with 11 miles on it....I took my friends bone stock 99 GT and got it to run 13.83, 13.91 and 14.11....I only had 3 runs....if you've driven mustangs long enough, you can realize most of them are basically the same to launch...there's a trick to getting very good ET...I also agree it's a drivers race with your everyday drivers..
