most people are going to tell you gears. it depends on your usage. Gears will make your car feel a lot faster, but hurt on gas milage a little. Can get expensive too, purchase + install. I had a bad experience with mine also. Exhaust is always on the top of the list too

 

id get some exhaust to make it sound like a stang :P new mid pips and cat back system will make it sound real nice if u got the money

 

any bolt on is a good way to start ur first mod. i started simple, new plugs wires and coil, then ud pullies, then cai, then a tb and egr spacer, then exhaust, then the next thing u no i have a 347 sittin in my car waiting to be built. i still dont get how that happened

 

Unless you got alot of money to drop...i'd say start with things that will help not only perfomance...but the overall feel of your car. Most people go with exaust or gears. A nice short throw shifter may be nice if you drive a manual. Also some full length weld in subframe connectors arent too expensive, and will strengthen your chassis tremendously.

 

I agree. Nothing beats the sound of a bellowing mustang.

 

My first mod will ALWAYS be exhaust.... afterall... its not a mustang unless it SOUNDS like a mustang [sm=smiley20.gif]

its funny how the exhaust has to be changed to make a mustang sound like a mustang....
