Default Shifter ****

Ever since I installed my FR leather wrap shift ****, its been loose and able to move, If I turn it so that its on tight its facing the wrong way. No matter where I have it facing when I start to screw it on it ends up in this position. With the stock shifter this was fine but now with the Tri Ax that I installed on the weekend I moves as I shift and I hate that. Anyone have any tips on how I can get it to stay where I want and be tight?

There is a pic of the **** at the end of this photo page I put together as I was installing the shifter

There is supposed to be a locking nut that screws onto the shifter shaft first before screwing on the ****. Then after screwing on the **** & have it facing the way you want, tighten down the locking nut
