If I thought it was water I would add the
appropriate amount of gas drier and run it
a lot to use up the gas. Add fresh premium($$$)
and see if that fixes it up.
Next is the MAF.
Then check wires at night.
Then change plugs.

The MAF would be one of the first things I would look at.You can clean it by using a spray electrical contact cleaner.Another would be a vacuum leak. You can try gas dryer but premium gas isn't needed for it to work.
You don't say whether the engine is warmed completly when this happens or if it only does it when the engine is cold.If the problem clears up when the engine is warm it could be nothing more than dirty injectors and intake valves.Short drives cause this due to gasoline deposits drying on the backs of the intake valves and the tips of the injectors everytime the engine is shut down. The detergents in the gas don't get a chance to clean the old deposits off before a new film of varnish is allowed to cook onto internal intake parts. These deposits build up over time until one day you start having problems.A long drive with some cleaner in the gas can go a long way to getting this gom out of your engine.

Oh jesus. Alright you catalytic converter is something that is part of your car that helps it to pass smog. If it is damaged or clogged than your exhaust is not running as well as it should and you are having more backpressure than normal. If your car is a GT you should have 2 (I think the cobras only came with 4). They are pretty cheap to get replaced just go to a muffler shop and have them cut yours out and put in new ones and you should be okay.

ok, i no what a catalytic converteris. and lizard ya gts have 4. He totally butcherd the spelling, so i figured it was something little thing on the car ive never herd of...and having a problem with the catalytic converterwould have nothing to do with how water got into my engine bay.
