I'm thinking about swapping my 6cyl. engine on a 98 stang for a cobra or crate engine. I know I will probably need a new suspension, rear, tranny, motor mount etc. Does anyone know how much it would cost or where a good shop to do it in New Jersey would be?

 

At least $5k probably a LOT more.. Cobra engines are expensive & so are crate motors depending on which one you want.

 

a lot. and there is no way of knowing. the things ur gonna need are a lot unless u can get em cheap. than the motor itself is at the least a grand if u buy it used but if u buy it new than maybe 5-7k. its gonna hurt. sell the 6 banger and get a v8 or a rolling chasis.

 

The best advice would be to just get a V8 car.You're gonna encounter too many problems otherwise.
