I need help buying a new engine
I have a 2001 cobra, everything on engine is stock. I need to buy another engine. I want to upgrade a little bit but I don't won't to go overboard, looking to spend no more than $10,000. So I want to know how much bigger of an engine I can go, if I can, and or where to buy an engine, either brand new or remaned.
I am in Souther Cali, so thanks for the help.

If you ask me 10000 is over board but if you got that cash laying around sure put it into the car. I would personaly get it stroked and put nos on it get all forged internal get new heads and cam and intake exhaust. Upgrade the transmission and rear end and then do supspension work. Dont forget brakes.. That should be good. Get good gauges so you can keep track of how the cars doing and running...

I am not necessarily trying to upgrade my current engine, because it is broken. I need to replace it. So I want to know what I should do to replace it. Get the same engine to replace this blown one, or buy a remanufactued one, or buy a brand new engine, either bigger, smaller or the same. And where to get them.

With 10k why not buy a GT500 engine and just drop it in? Mind you I have NOT seen a used one yet. If you had $25k you could buy a newGT engine Dry sump and all.
You could also get a Terminator engine for only a few grand and put a KB on it and have it tuned the same way Diablosport did and get over 1000hpout of it
You could get the Terminator and have Stage 6 build you a turbo kit, or STS.
I have a 0mile 2003 Mach1 shortblock for sale /shrugs...
Its not forged internals so that probably wouldnt follow what you want to do.
VT has very well priced engines and SHM makes some awesome strokers.
