351 Boss? I know about the Boss 302 block which retails for about $16-1800. They make a Sportsman II Windsor block with 4blt mains in either siamese or non-siamese cylinder bores which retail for about the same.

the boss 351 block is just a 351 cleve block, nothing special, its a cleve 4v wit 4v closed chamber heads, i believe might be open, and a 4v intake. and i think the comp ratio was slightly higher. but the block was the same.

Thanks for the info, I saw on the cover of "mustangs & fast fords" magazine that said that the "351 boss is back", and a second person has told me that the boss 351 block would be available sometime in may....
Thanks just asking

The 351C Boss is something special. It has 4 bolt mains as apposed to 2 bolt mains. None of the Non-Boss clevelands got 4 bolt mains.
Its rods were shotpeened and Magnafluxed and its heads, drawn from the Boss 302, had staggered valves and huge ports. It had a radical, solid-lifter cam, 11.0:1 compression, a 750-cfm four-barrel, and an honest 330 bhp. Ram-air induction, a Hurst-shifted four-speed, and a 3.91:1 Traction-Lok diff were standard.

My wifes standard 351C 4V was a 285hp motor and the 351-CJ was only a 280hp motor making the 351BOSS the king of the hill.

Thanks NeoTokyo, as always you are the bomb!! One more question if you may... I've had 71Mustang for a long time now, and recently someone told me that I have a fastback and not a mach1, The VIN is not the original so I can not go by code number. What are the visual differences between a mach1 and a fastback?
Thanks

The Mach1 had a rubber color keyed front bumper, honey comb grill and rear inserts, and optional spoiler, traditional hocky stripes (Two stypes kits available) A Mach 1 specific Deluxe interior combo (Sorry I dont have pix,) Part of this interior package which was standard was the carpet, it had a rubber inlay on the driver and pass side that has the running pony on it.

Thats about all I can figure for visual differences. Some people replace the front bumper with a Chrome one so that could even throw you off. The way to check if your chrome bumper is original is that there should be a ford stamping somwhere on the back of it. If you have that take down the number and search it, search it through OEM replacment and aftermarket. Thats all I can help you with that.

If you still have the door stickers that can tell you what it is too. Also the front and rear seats have a metal ID tag clipped on them, decode that number and it will tell you what you have. The Front seats has the tag on the bottom of the seat.

Thanks for the comment

Thanks NeoTokyo

I have a chrome bumber, the sticker on the door is gone... some1 once told me that the back passanger windows on the mach1 did not roll down and on the fast back they did, have you heard this before? Did both the mach1 and fastback come with the back fold down seats?

Gracias

That is correct, the quarter windows do not roll down.
My wifes 71's interior is out right now and you can see where the glass is bolted to the exterior pannel.

Do yours roll down?
