Default My Weekend Play Car

It is not a Mustang, but very close. I wanted something a little different, so decided to turn the family 1993 Thunderbird into my weekend play car. It has been gone over from front to rear, top to bottom over the last 2 years.

The front:

The side:

The rear:

It has a aluminum fire wall where the rear seat was, so no need for boxed battery.

The engine:

The bottom:

The inside:

Thats the MSD Digital 6+ in the glovebox space

The car started out at 3,940 lbs, and is now 3,225 lbs, and going down. No track times yet. Will be putting a Detroit Locker in with 4.56 gears in next month.

Great job man. looks really nice. Hey what did you use to clean and strip the undercarrage to paint it? Did you have a lift to paint the bottom?
Whats you plan on keeping that white clean??
Goodluck with it man.

Thanks guys. The interior does not look that light of color in real life. The flash really brighten it. It is dark Burgandy. For the underside, I took it to the car wash during a off period, and jacked it way up, and put tall jack stands under the rear, and a second set for saftey. I used the pressure wash to get most of it off, then used the tire cleaner setting to go over it. When I was done, I took it home, and raised it up the same way in the driveway, and let my wife use her oven cleaner on the touch spots. When that was done, just used soap and hot water, and scrubed it good. Dried it real good, and a week latter painted it with rattle cans. Did the same for the engine compartment before pulling the old engine, then did spot cleaning and painted it while the engine was out. I found that the white wall tire cleaner, "Westleys", works great on very stuborn spots, but clean the area with windex after so it does not discolor it. My wife said that her keeping the under side of the car waxed, makes it real easy to clean now.

Thanks guys, it's been a long slow project. I have 2 lites really. The one on the tack is to help control the shifting of the Manual/auto valve body on the Lentech trans. I have it set shift on the street at 5,000 RPM using automatic, and shift at 6,300 on the strip. If I set it to shift that high on the street at WOT, under light throttle it does not shift till almost 4,000. The second light is used when running in foor brake class, I set to come on when I reach the stall speed I want to launch from. If it is blinking some, I am at the sweet spot. It helps me to control my foot, almost as good as a 2 step.
