i was reading some info on motive gears and they say they are just as good as ford racing if not better. And that they are a lot cheaper in price. Is this a bad case of propaganda?

im going to be ordering my 4.10's soon and getting them istalled in the spring. i dont want to order motive if they wont last as long as ford racing.

any suggestions?

I got FMS. Thought about the Motive gears, but with as important of a function as they play - I'd rather go with the tried and true name. If it were hundreds/thousands of dollars difference, it could be different. However, that is not the case here. Peace of mind.

yeah i agree, for the little extra money its worth knowing your not goona have any problems down the road.

 

Ford is less likely to make noise and easier to get right if you've got a sh!tty technicion doing the swap for you.

 

i got the motive 4.10 gears for like 120 bucks off of mustang tuning.com and it they say there is no whine like in the richmond gears but i have still yet to install mine and i have had them for like 6 months but i need to wait til Spring especially after the storm we just got.

 

what kind of noise do gears make? My exhaust is loud enough, especially on the inside of the car (because of the convertible). Are the FMS or FRPP gears known for making gear whine???

 

nah i haven't heard that they do.

 

the gears don't whine it's the installer who does it wrong that causes the whine
