Double clutching was done on older sports car because the tranny did not have syncros like modern trannies. There is no need to double clutch a modern tranny.

Best off learning heel-toe and power shifting (if you must). Or learn like I did, timing the shift so you aren't power shifting but it is almost as fast.

double clutching could also mean popping the clutch after the shift to give it a little more kick.

Poor old man
I'll put my full manual valve body automatic tranny with a 2,500 rpm stall converter up against any of you guys with a 5 speed in any bracket race you want and bet I'll win the majority of the races over you and your 5 speed tranny and clutch! BRING THEM ON, I'M WAITING FOR YOU!

One day we will have to get together at some drag strip somewhere and settle this matter once and for all. and to give you a fighting chance, I'll make it the best 5 out of 7 runs with each dialing his own ET and we'll just see who gets to the finish line first most often! LOL

Oh I don't doubt you'd slay most all of us bracketing, I can cut consistant sub .1 r/t's but my 1/8 times can vary by .1 or .2 pretty consistantly. An auto and slicks would certainly get me much more consistant but... not I'd still be faster with a 5sp [sm=icon_rock.gif]
