Default chips in paint

So I recently bought a 2000 black V6 that has many small chips in the front bumper from road rocks. What is the easiest/cheapest way that I can get these repaired and looking great again?? THANKS!!

The only way to get chips out is to have it repainted.

Im in the same shape you are with the front bumper, i was quoted 350 at a local shop. thats if i pull the bumper and carry it to them.

I'm in the same boat... I also have a 2000 black v6 and my bumper has rock chips plus peeling clearcoat. I haven't gotten quotes to get it fixed but I see new pre-painted bumpers on ebay for $250-$285 shipped. I'm probably gonna order one pretty soon along with some new headlights :-)

don't buy new repainted bumpers off ebay, first off u might be a little better off than what u have now, but there are prolly chips in there that you don't see. Plus shipping does not cover paint damages to the bumper when shipped.. When u get ur bumper im not sure what its called but there is this really thin clear plastic film u can get to help protect your paint you might wanna invest in that. just a thought

I've seen that before too. Its called scotchgard paint protection film made my 3M. Ita urethane film thatgoes right over your paint and protects it from chips and scratches. If its done right you cant even notice its on the car. When it gets scratched or chipped, you just peel it off and put some new on.

Heres a link, its got a few vids too.

If its a lot of chips, get the entire bumper repainted. If its a few tiny nicks try some touchup from the parts store. And that Scotchgaurd sounds like a good idea.

Well I don't know if I can just get a new front bumper. The car has a body kit and I'm not sure if I can get just the bumper. I still have to check that out. As for touch up...I would say there are about 20 chips in the paint. Yea it looks pretty bad.

Well, I would just use some touch up paint if it bugs you that badly for now. You could probably find a shop in evansville to repaint the whole bumper for 300 bucks or so. The bumper itself goes for $450 alone, unpainted so whoever said buy a new bumper is an idiot.

This is the price I paid for a low sitting bumper when I live in the country (IE lots of road debris thanks to tractors, as well as other assorted redneck equipment grrrr...)

Does anybody look at how old a post is before they respond?

Rookie.
