Default 3.8L to 5.0L conversion

I am currently in the middle of converting my '94 3.8L convertible into a 5.0L and I'm stuck at a minor (though some ppl say major) point. My current speedometer cluster seems to be working fine with the 5.0 engine except that my odometer is broken (it broke prior to this conversion). So I was going to purchase a new speedometer cluster since I've been replacing just about everything else in the car.

My question is: MUST I use a speedometer cluster from a 5.0 (which is $100) or can I use one from a 3.8 (which is $40). Would it matter really since I NEVER plan on going any faster than 70mph (or the highest speed limit out there which I currently don't know what that would be). Do I really need a speeometer that goes to 150mph and 8k tach???

If I've posted this in the wrong category, please feel free to move it, just let me know where you put it.

Thanks
