Hi,

Well I need to start thinking about winter and I have a problem. I will have to use the 'stang as my winter car this year until I can pick-up a beater. I would like to buy a seperate set of rims to run winter tires on. I was wondering if it is possible to put 16" rims on the car. I am 99% sure they will fit. Oh i have a GT with the 17" Torque "D" style rims. Wondering if anyone is in the same boat or knows if they will fit. Thanks!!

the rims will fit no problem so long as the bolt pattern is the same. Unless you plan on putting some 33" mudders on them you should have no issue.

Ive never lived in snow but cant you just get some chains to go on your currentsetup? I guess if they're nice rims you wouldnt wanna run around like that in the snow and salt and all If you go with a different size rim try to get a taller tire to compensate for the smaller rim, that way your circumfrence stays about the same and your speedo doesnt get off.

there are many many places on the internet where you can find rim/tire combos that are roughly equivalent. Most are for the sake of altering the speedo reading after a gear change, but there are some that might fit the bill

ever seen a tire chain break? Not a pretty sight. Can you say new fender and suspension components. I think I am going to call the local junk yards for a set of steelies off a v-6 and then pick up tires. I have until the middle of oct. before I even need to buy them. but with the weather around here right now it could snow tommorrow!!!
