Default Pinging problem

Ok my car started pinging when it got really hot outside. It only pings for a second around 2k RPM's. I can write down info and send it to the tuner but right now my schedule is packed and I cant go drive around to get the info i need. Lets get the no brainer questions outta the way by saying i run 91 octane (utah), 39# fuel injectors, etc...

there was 10% timing but i changed to to 15% to see if it would help with the knocking. didnt work....im wondering if there is a easy fix just for the week like trying a octane booster or something. Or if there is something i can tweak on the tuner (diablo)

Usually when you add more timing the engine can start to ping/knock no matter what. There is a limit. Your plugs also need to be the correct heat range.

With a tuner installed however it may just need tuned like you said. I dont know how to work them things but im sure you need the right plugs and all for it to all work together properly. Unfortunately i dont know tuners so thats as much as i can help with.

When in doubt call up the manufacturer, they should be able to answer anything about thier products.

So why dont you run 93? or 94? Or maybe go down to your local race track buy 5 gallons of racing gas and dilute it down with 93? You also need to back the timing off, giving more timing will increase your pinging.

why are you double posting? You already got your answer in the other thread. Retard the timing.

cuz this was the general forum so other mustang guys could answer. i dont go in the 5.0 threads so i posted in the 2005+ and this one. When the car was tuned it was fine and another tuner added 10% timing but its just now pinging because its gotten hotter. im wondering if i put it at 5 or 0 if it would help. If it doesnt then its probably the throttle timing
