Default aviation fuel?

I have been looking at some fuel posts and saw aviation fuel is being used in place of race fuel. It does not seem to be crazy expensive, but is it safe for a car? I was going to drop the boost on my stang but after seeing this I may just do aviation fuel instead if it is safe. Can it be mixed with regular 91 oct unleaded fuel?

Avgas still contains lead so it's not safe for catalytic convertor orO2 sensor equipped vehicles.
100LL stands for one hundred octane low lead.

This comes up way too often. Avation fuel is not in a good substitute for higher octane race gas in a an automobile application. Av-gas is designed for relitivly low rpm engines that operate at high altitudes. things like specific gravity are not the same. I am sure people will arguee this point with me and that's fine, but I would not use it in my car. Tome it's just 1960's thinking, because they used it "back in the day".

If you're concerned with boost and detonation, then spend $200 and buy a water / methanol injection kit. hen you can spray windshield washer fluid into the intake to greatly lower temps and to slightly increase octane. It's only used when you need it (under boost.) And washer fluid is pretty damned cheap.

Also does it automaticaly spray when a set psi is hit or do you decide when to spray it?
