AC Problem on 92 LX 4CYL
Ok. So I have a 1992 Hatchback LX Hatchback.
So the AC is acting up. It works and everything.
But it wont come out of the primary vents. It forces it out of the dash or floor vents regardless the setting.
My brother told me that on one of his old cars there was a level under the dash that could be held open and it would fix the problem for the time being, i dont know about that.
But its really annoying at the moment. 105 in Fresno and without the direct vents on your face in the car, the AC is almost not noticable until about 15 min of driving with the dash/floor vents going.
Any ideas as to what's wrong?

Most likely it's vacuum issue. There will be a couple of small vacuum lines running into the pass side of the dash. They control the dashpots for the blend doors. Make sure they are connected and there is a vacuum supply from one of them. There is a vacuum canister located in the inner fenderwell area of the passenger side. If its broken or disconnected, it will cause the problem you are having.

There should be a schematic in the book of the AC system that will help you trace the lines out and give you the names of the parts you are looking at. Like Pro said, start at the vacuum canister and work your way aft.
