Hi guys i'm posting this in general tech and it is not about my mustang, but my parents ford focus.

It is a 2003 zx5 with the DOHC motor. On startup there is a sort of woosh (??) sound, like you can hear some sort of air or pressure leak. It is only just before the car fires up, and it does not do it otherwise. Does anyone have any idea as to what this could be? I appreciate your help.

 

Could be your starter. My stang has been doing that at startup. After its started it goes away. Itll go away after i replace the starter but always cames back.

And yes, it sounds like a rush of air.

 

Thanks for the advice, I suppose it is worth noting that the motor has a little over 102k miles on it.
