Finally I think I found a good place here in Oklahoma for a dyno tune. Their located up in Tulsa. Place is called Tulsa Dyno. No rates listed on their site, but they look like they have their act together. Check out the video of a Ferrari F40 being tested. Looks like they can help install some upgrades as well. Worth a shot.

I'M in MWC. Just ordered my 05 GT this week so I have a long 8-10 week wait. I sent Tulsa Dyno an email requesting more info on dyno rates, installs, tunes etc. I'll let you know what I find out.

Ok Chris from Tulsa Dyno emailed me today and I talked to him on the phone. Here's what he had to say:

JC,

It runs $45 for 3 dyno-pulls, and an Air/Fuel reading is provided for
free. You also get printouts from the dyno session, and I can put your
pictures up on our website if you want to post them in forums.
There is a SCT custom tuner that can re-flash your computer, he will be
back on Tuesday. I think it runs around $550-$650 for a custom chip,
tuning, and dyno time. The guy you want to talk to is Kurtis Fullingim
with Archangel Motorsports. He has the tuning software, but he is out
of
town until this next Tuesday. I would talk to him about what to buy
firts, those handheld programmers are more time consuming on the dyno,
and
might not be worth it compared to a custom tune. I recommend at
least "baselining" the car before thinking about a chip, since they are
so
expensive. We should be able to tell from the dyno how bad it needs a
tune. I have openings later today, and on Saturday, so please give me
a
call at (918)519-1969 and we can setup a time. Or please call if you
have
any questions.
Thanks! And congrats on the new GT!

When I spoke with him he said the guy you need to speak with is Curtis. He's out of town, but will be back middle next week. He recommended not doing the Dyno until after the break-in period (Makes sense) and you change your oil. Don't use synthetic oil until around 5k miles. Most of your engine wear/metal shavings will occur during this period. $550-$650 seems steep, but if you think about how much the handheld programmers cost ($375). For an extra $150 you get a true custom tune that is for your car only like a fingerprint, and you have printouts to show your cars performance gains.

I will save you some money, based on your mods, your running about 205 rwhp and that is generous.

Thanks for the info JC. It has been a while since I first posted this and I didn’t think anyone was going to answer. I found a place here in OKC that uses a Mustang Dyno, which everyone on the forum said is bad after I had it done. It cost $100 for three pulls and A/F. Now I feel ripped off. Maybe I’ll have to go up to Tulsa to check the place out. Did they happen to mention the brand of dyno they have?

I’m in Yukon by the way. Good to see more Okies on here.

You Oklahoma people should check out www.okcdhm.com

Okla Stang Club.

There is a Dyno Day coming up on the 12th (Next Sat) Should Check it out. Here is a repost of the details.

There will be an official Deadhorse Dyno Day on Saturday, March 12. It will be held at Alternative Motorsports on Reno just west of Council in OKC. The dyno is an inground Dynojet 248C. Chuck (the owner) has told me his has a good system with his employees for dyno days. He can and has run as many as 35 cars in a single day when some other performance shops can only manage 20 cars in a day. It will start at 9:00 A.M. He asked that we start at 8:00 A.M. if we get over 25 cars. The prices will be:

$40 for 3 pulls including a/f readings.
If we get 15 cars there will be a price drop to:
$35 for 3 pulls including a/f readings.

We need people to post up who will be coming and who will be going to dyno. We need to know an approximate number of cars that will dyno before hand so Chuck can make arrangements with his staff, etc.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:14 PM.
