Headlight Help
My front headlights dont work at all. But my brights work. I have checked all the fuses and they are fine so i am guessing it is a wiring problem. Should i just take it to my local ford dealer and see if they can fix it? how much will a dealer charge do u think?
Dumb question, but have you checked your bulbs? I'm pretty sure they are dual filament bulbs (one for lows one for highs). If the low filament part is blown it is possible the highs would work. Not veru likely that both would do this, but I have heard of stranger things happening. Its really easy to check and worth it if it saves you a few bucks.
I thought i was the only person thinking this.... I would recommend replacing both bulbs before paying money for a quick fix. They could replace the bulbs and charge you 4 hours of diag for wire repair. lol.. I know i would.
here is a list of what i have and dont. When i turn on my light i get my left front parking lights, the right front doesnt work at all. The left front turn signal works and the rear left works also. The rear right turn signal turns on but doesn't blink. It seems like something is wrong with the wiring to me. And yes both brights work. I don't have a wiring diagram near me so i can't see if the brights are wired seperate
I would pull the headlight bulbs and check them first. try them in the explorer if they will fit. if the bulbs test OK, then the problem is in the headlight switch. you need two small flat bladed screwdrivers to remove the switch from the dash cover. there are two clips on each side of the switch that you need to depress with the screwdrivers to release the switch from the hole in the dash cover. once it's loose, gently pull it out some so you can disconnect the plug on the back of it. you might be able to clean the contacts in the switch with some electrical contact clearer to see if this fixes the problem with the lights, but you might just want to replace the switch with a new one if you can find one somewhere, either at a dealer or 5.0 Resto.
