I want to get two flowmaster mufflers 40's for now, with all the stock setup will this make it any better sounding i will just be replacing the muffler, got a guy who can do them 240 installed
Hahahah $240 installed, that's RAPE.

I paid $120 bucks for mine, installed. If you want performance gains, get a cat-back and avoid baffled mufflers.

i would try to get a full cat back kit, bumps the pipes to 2.5" instead of just replacing the mufflers and having 2.25". add a o/r h pipe and you will really hear them
I agree

Agreed, baffled mufflers suck. Also, bigger piping won't make a bit of difference because they will still have to flow through the same muffler, unless of course the muffler is a higher flower then the catback piping (which is the case with many borla exhaust systems).

I just recently had my American Thunders put on and I'd definately recommend them to anybody. I know they're not as loud as the magnapacks but they have the best muscle car sound. I don't know what mine would sound like without my h-pipe but from what I hear the mid pipe makes the difference!

I had the flowmaster 40s welded in, then I got a whole flowmaster cat-back but the drone at 2k was driving me nuts.

I have magnaflows now with the magnaflow catted x pipe. I dig it

Magnaflow>Flowmaster anyday! No drone with the magnaflows either. Get the midpipe as well, don't halfass it!

The drone with my thunders is not that big of a deal unless you drive with the radio off all the time because that's when you really notice it. I don't know how to explain what the drone sounds like but some guys don't like it. I personally don't mind.
