Default Insurance prices

I am a 16 year oldlooking to get a 94-95 mustang with 5.0. I had a 72 nova I was restoring but I just didn't have enough time or money. Thingis,my mom is raising a fuss because she thinks I wont be able to afford the insurance.I am able to pay cash forthe car, therefore I would just get liability since I am mechanically inclined.I am an honor student, what can I expect to pay for insurance?

Thanks for the reply. I need it to be not much more than $150 a month.

I apologize, I just realized this is kind of in the wrong forum.

For liability I pay like $50 bucks a month. But it's under my mom's name. So, I don't know how much it'd go up if it were in my name.

But, I think my brother paid $200 bucks a month his IROC for full coverage, that's when he got the car in his name and such.

[I live in Miami, FL... so Insurance is higher. Depending on how populated your town is, the more populated it is the higher the insurance... and every thing else it seems :P]

Shop around first. A 16 year old with a V8 Mustang usually raises a few eyebrows at the insurance agency. Being a performance vehicle some places wont insure for less than full coverage. Being 16 is considered high risk for many.

Even if the insurance is low, start saving up. A lot. A 5.0 can get expensive quick.

I pay $96 a month for full coverage on my 93 GT. But then again im also 30 and have a clean record.

Haha...

I am 26, have a not-so-clean record, and it's *cough* $420 a month for my insurance. Best bet: buy the Stang, but don't speed

Just remember: You gotta pay to play!

02 mustang GT, no accidents.. just a few tickets (nothing major) and the car is under my parent's name and I pay 1100$ per year, which is about 90-95$ a month

put it under your parent's name... you'll save a LOT of money.

Under my own name, I would pay 3000 instead of 1100 per year...

EDIT: I'm 22.

I'm 17 and haveno accidents/tickets. My insurance price didn't change from my 84 BMW to a 78 luv truck tomy88 turbocoupe tomy94honda civic tomy 95 mustang GT. All the same, $248/3 months, that's obviously liability. Of course the insurance agent gets tired of me changingcars every month, but oh well...
