Default pinion snubber question

i put my snubber in today and noticed its really close to that plate on the top of the pinion. it is set as high as it can go so adjusting it wont do anything. i was just wondering if its supposed to be that close. also, could i remember that plate on the top of the pinion for more room and then lower the snubber down when i get to the track?

what is that thing that hangs from the bottom of the pinion?

i also attached a picture of one of my new upper arms installed. they are so much nicer then the piece of $h!t stock arms

Can't remember exactly, but there should be recommendations in your short list of directions for the snubber.
Think it was 1/2 for Non-Track use. and 1/4 for track use
If you do happen to need more space you have to cut some of the snubber rubber down or the metal shaft.

well its about a half inch now so ill leave it as is. i think though, im going to pull it down and wrap the lower part of the snubber (the part that moves up and down) with a little bit of electrical tape because its loose and when i go over bumps, i can hear it rattle down there.
