RE: Chips- worth it or not?
either or? which is better? i do have auto.. i want to change shift points, speed limiter, and rev limiter mainly, increase hp and tq. dont care about mpg.
edit: the sct Xcalibrator from mustang tuning looks good. when it says custom tunes, do you tell the the mods you have (i.e. cai and cat back) and they set up programs? how do they work?

RE: Chips- worth it or not?
i found this site: http://www.fordpartsnetwork.com/sct1-X.html and they offer it for $50 less than mustang tuning. dunno about shipping though. so if i ordered from mustang tuning, they would custom burn me 3 setups? what if i only need one, or could i get some that have calibrations for future mods?

RE: Chips- worth it or not?
good chips or a tuner are the only way to go with the fuel injected systems of today as the factory tune leaves a lot to be desired as far as horsepower and performance are concerned. they are relatively conservative leaving the factory as they are shooting for low emission and good mileage instead of power and performance, so the only way to get the best performance from the computer controlled engines is with a chip or tuner to reprogram the ECU. even a basic chip is an improvement over the stock setup IMO. and the companies like Hypertech and Superchips have really got some good systems out there for the newer mod motor cars.
