This depends on how hard the engine's life has been. There are likely some passages around gaskets which are currently sealed off by gunk and dino oil; synthetic oil will clean this gunk and find its way outside of your engine. Long-story-short, you may develop an oil drip on synthetic. However, my last 302 had 100k miles on it and no drips once I converted to full synthetic, while it provided better gas mileage and supposedly more protection for the engine.

Convert to synthetic and don't look back...unless your engine is using oil now.
